First Friday is a free monthly community evening held on the first Friday of the month, when participating businesses throughout Orleans stay open later and come together to create a lively, welcoming night out across town.

Most businesses participate from 5:00–8:00 PM, though hours may vary by location. The Holiday Edition on December 4 runs 3:00–7:00 PM.

Yes — First Fridays are completely free and open to everyone.

Extended shopping hours, live music, artisan pop-ups, food and drink specials, art, and one-of-a-kind experiences throughout town. Every business decides how they participate, so there's always something different to discover. Check the event page for each date to see what's happening around town.

Each date has its own page on the website with a full list of participating businesses and their First Friday offerings. Listings are updated as details come in, so check back closer to each event.

Orleans businesses are spread across a few different areas of town, so a free First Friday Trolley runs between the main hubs and stops at key locations throughout the evening. Check the Map & Trolley  page for routes, stops, and timing.

First Fridays are organized at the business level, so the best way in is to connect directly with the shops, galleries, or restaurants you'd love to work with. Reach out to businesses you know or admire and pitch your idea — those personal connections are what make First Fridays special.
